Safe Haven Basketball

INCLUSIVE BASKETBALL FOR ALL ABILITIES

Schools, Colleges, Clubs

Outreach

We can bring our fantastic coaches to your school/college/club to introduce them to basketball, to provide enhancements to the sports curriculum and to give them a lifelong interest in basketball.

We aim to raise awareness of the opportunities for your students for sport in the community provided by Safe Haven Basketball, and work with schools in and around the boroughs in which we run sessions.

We aim to support students as they transition from one setting to another, providing a constant source of friendships, opportunities for fitness, and positive experiences.

We are aware that one of the principle barriers to participation is the ability to travel independently and we work with schools and colleges to try to overcome this barrier.

Competitions

We can arrange competitions on a friendly basis with school/college/club teams we have worked with, playing against our clubs during our sessions.

We are working with Jump for Health to develop a basketball competition league for special schools. Please contact us for details.

We can support your athletes to become Special Olympic Athletes, and provide them with opportunities for coaching and competition along the Special Olympic pathways.

Volunteer Opportunities

We can offer students a range of volunteering opportunities.  For those undertaking Duke of Edinburgh awards, we are happy to document attendance as required.  For those with ambitions to work in sport coaching, we can offer work experience and also we can offer to help dedicated volunteers through coaching qualifications.
